Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending The Lodging Conference, held in Phoenix from October 6–8, 2025. For me, these industry gatherings are more than just conferences—they’re strategic opportunities to keep Transformation Hospitality Solutions (THS) on the map by connecting with hospitality leaders, strengthening partnerships, and staying close to the trends that continue to transform hospitality.

A Defining Moment: Turning a Hotel Around
One of the most meaningful moments during the conference came in a conversation with Doug Dreher, chief executive officer, principal and officer of The Hotel Group. He shared that THS talent and services were the driving force behind a remarkable turnaround at one of their properties.
Originally, this hotel was underperforming to the point that ownership was ready to walk away. But after bringing in THS talent through our hotel task force program, the property’s performance improved so significantly that they chose to keep it in their portfolio. Doug directly attributed this decision to the quality of the THS team and the expertise we bring to each assignment.
This is more than a success story; it’s a clear example of the impact we make as a team. Our hospitality task force solutions go far beyond filling staffing gaps. We’re driving operational turnarounds, revenue growth, and cultural alignment that reshape the trajectory of properties across the hospitality industry.
Industry Insight: Growth is Muted, Labor Demand is High
Throughout the conference, one theme came up again and again: muted RevPAR growth. While overall industry performance isn’t showing year-over-year gains, executives voiced a shared concern over continued unpredictability in the market. From tariff policies to shifting travel patterns, uncertainty was top of mind for many leaders.
Yet amid this uncertainty, one message was loud and clear in nearly every breakout and general session:
There is a labor shortage across the industry.
And this is exactly where Transformation Hospitality Solutions thrives. Labor is what the industry needs—and we provide it. Our ability to deploy high-impact hotel task force talent quickly and consistently positions THS as a strategic partner in solving one of the industry’s most pressing challenges.
Our Role in a Changing Landscape
As the hospitality sector faces slower growth and unpredictable conditions, THS stands at the intersection of talent and transformation. We are the partner hotels and management companies turn to when they need the right people, at the right time, to drive performance. Whether through short-term hospitality task force support or long-term staffing strategies, we help our clients adapt, thrive, and transform hospitality from the inside out.
The story Doug Dreher shared is not an isolated win. It’s a reflection of what happens when THS consultants and partners bring their expertise to the table. Together, we’re not just supporting the industry—we’re shaping its future.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the final stretch of the year, I’m energized by what we’ve accomplished and what’s ahead. The industry may be facing headwinds, but our role has never been more critical. Each placement, each partnership, and each moment of service excellence strengthens our reputation as the go-to hospitality task force and staffing partner for properties nationwide.
Together, we’ll continue to elevate hotels, support our clients, and shape the future of hospitality through talent.
